 News Item: Itinerary for this weekend's Hapkido camp at Myuna Bay

CampsHere the Itinerary (thanks Master Geister!!)

Saturday 20th March

8.00am     Breakfast

9.00am     Black belts discussion and delegation

9.30am –10:30am   Training for all students - Master Brown: Group Training

10:30am – 12:00:   Rotating Groups with various Instructors
    Tup: Mixed Martial Arts takedowns and drills
    Ron: Groundwork and grappling
    Mitch & Trish: Sparring Techniques
    Steve: Self Defense Techniques and Concepts
    David Beneke: Walking Cane

12.30pm  Lunch

1.00pm    Free Time

2:00 – 4:00pm   Training        
    Senior BB training with Master Brown
    Black Belts to train coloured belts:
    Kids:  Prepare Kids Demo
    Bags & Pad Kicking:    According to Syllabus requirements
    Falling Drills and throws:     Hip throws according to skill level
    Sparring techniques:   Safe trapping & takedown
    Patterns:   According to Belt Level
    Footwork and circular motion:4 Direction Pattern, Tornado throw, Fan
    Grading Preparation for those intending to grade with Master Geister
       
4:15-5:15 pm        Pool Session – Aqua Ki Do with Master Geister

6.30pm   Dinner

7:30pm   Grading – normal grading fees apply
              Black Belt and above  pre-graders $25

After Grading        Party around the Open fire
           
Sunday 21st  March:

6.30am – 7:30am    Meditation, Pung Ryu Do and Stretching – Master Geister

8.00am            Breakfast

9:30 – 12:00pm    Master Brown:      Mixed Group Training
                           Master Marie: 1000 technique challenge

12.30pm        Lunch

1.00 - 2.00pm        Clean up and pack up

 News Item: AHA Summer Camp at Myuna Bay - 19-21 Mar 2010

CampsThe next AHA camp is being held on the 19-21 March 2010 at Myuna Bay Sports and Recreation Centre.

Just a little over an hour’s drive north of Sydney, the centre is in a perfect location for outdoor adventure and specialises in water-based activities all year round.

For those travelling  to the camp early on the Friday night, a full meal is being served at 6:00pm.



This is a really great location at the edge of Lake Macquarie with great facilities, accommodation and food. Put the date in your diary now!!

Prices (same as last year!!)
  • Full Camp (over 18) $165
  • Full Camp (5 to 17) $125
  • Full Camp (2 to 4) $40
  • Day Only $30

Registrations closed on Thursday 5 March 2010.


The full price includes all meals and accommodation from Friday evening till Sunday 4:00pm.
The rooms are heated and have their own en-suite toilet and shower.
Bring pillow case, sleeping bag, towel & toiletries. (Pillows are supplied).

The current plan for activities will include:
  • Grading on Sat night (Colour Belts and Black Belt Pre-graders)
  • Technique workshops with Master Brown
  • Stretching and Meditation workshop with Master Geister
  • Pool training session with Master Geister
  • Sparring workshop with the Mitchell Wetherell (Saturday)
  • Walking Cane workshop with Master Geister
  • Kicking workshop with Danny Turner (Sunday)
  • Mixed Martial Arts workshop with Tup Moekaa
  • 1000 Technique challenge
  • Group training with Hapkido students from other clubs
  • Party Saturday night after the grading (including a fire twirling show and dancing around the bonfire)
The camp is a great mix of training and fun that will allow you make a huge leap in your understanding of Hapkido and at the same time meet other like-minded martial artists.

 News Item: Winter Camp - 12-14 June 2009 - Myuna Bay

 News Item: Blue Mountains Camp in May 2008

CampsThis year the annual camp for Sydney will be held at the Blue Gum Lodge located at Springwood in the lower Blue Mountains (approx 40 min from Parramatta, 1 hour 30 min from Sydney) on May 2nd to 4th 2008.

Fees
  • Member Adult $95
  • Member Student $85
  • Family Rate - first one full price, second one $20 off, third one $40 off, fourth person $40 off, etc...
  • So one adult and two children would pay 95+ 65 + 45 = $205.
There will be heaps of the new merchandise at the camp for you to buy - so bring along some extra cash to buy you T-Shirt, Cup or Key-Ring.

About the Blue Gum Lodge
Set among 33 hectares of bushland on the edge of Springwood in the temperate Lower Blue Mountains, its extensive grassed areas provide ample space for sports and games. The huge recreation hall includes a full size indoor basketball court and a large climbing wall. This Centre features modern bathrooms, a refurbished dining hall with a glass enclosed fire, as well as purpose built facilities for the disabled. Access into Sassafras Reserve is via walking trails that begin at the property.

By Car or Bus from Sydney
• Proceed along the Great Western highway through Valley Heights.
• Turn left off the highway at the Springwood/Winmalee exit.
• Take the third road on the left, De Chair Avenue and second on the right, Fels Avenue.
• The entrance to Blue Gum Lodge is at the end of the cul de sac.

By Public Transport
• Catch the train to Springwood Station, leave the station on the shopping centre side (Macquarie Road).
• Walk east (towards Sydney) for approximately 1.5km until you come to Springwood Public School.
• Turn right into De Chair Avenue and second on the right, Fels Avenue.
• The entrance to Blue Gum Lodge is at the end of the cul-de-sac.
