 | News Item: Finally!! Syllabus Update released - Version 6!!! |
Version 6 of the AHA Syllabus for the Colour Belts is now available for download. The changes to the syllabus are minor - and there are some additional sections to the document (grading requirements, pressure point charts).
The main differences are:
- Cleaning up of some typos and errors in V4
- New footwork drill to replace the old drill at white belt level
- Sorting out of Defence against punch for Yellow Tips to make it easier for this level to learn
- Shifting
of Mokuto (wooden sword) to black belt syllabus and shifting of
magazine, danbon and chukto weapons to slightly higher grades.
- Reduction
of amount of material for Red Tips and Red Belts have to learn by
giving some of the easier tehcniques to Blue tip (headlocks) and Blue
Belt (front bear hugs).
- Definition of grading requirements for each grade (p16) - see what you will need to do in a grading at a glance.
- Changes to 2 techniques in the Self Defence Drill No.4.
- Tying in of knife defence principles with knife defence to make it more useful.

The web version of the syllabus
is going to be updated to match V6 in the next week. Following this we
are planning to release Black Belt Syllabus and then the Student
Handbook (with photos, history, training goals, membership oath etc...).
So keep an eye out for these as well!!
