Hey everyone!

IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED TO MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA!!

Come and check out the most proven reality based self defence in the world!

Krav Maga is Hebrew for “contact combat”. It is the official self-defence system of the Israeli Defence Forces' (IDF). Krav Maga is a reality based self defence used by many elite combat, defence, and law enforcement units all around the world.

Krav Maga was created in Bratislava in the 1930s by Imi Lichtenfeld and was then further developed in Israel by the defence forces. Not only has Krav Maga been effectively adapted for law enforcement but also for civilian use. Krav Maga is the ideal self-defence system for use on the street - a place where no rules exist.

At IDF Training - Krav Maga Melbourne we take pride in teaching the true and official Krav Maga of the Israeli Defence Forces founded by Imi Lichtenfeld. IDF Training - Krav Maga Melbourne believes that as with any of the traditional martial arts, it is important to properly research the Krav Maga school that you will be training with before you make any decisions. We only teach the techniques developed by the founder of Krav Maga and welcome anyone who is interested in joining to come and observe a Krav Maga Melbourne class.

Feel free to contact us at IDF Training - Krav Maga Melbourne with any questions you may have about Krav Maga, self defence or any ideas you have about how our Krav Maga techniques can benefit your martial arts school, company, corporate team building events, or any other enquiries you may have about training or supplying martial arts equipment.

Krav Maga is not like any of the other traditional martial arts systems. We don't train to compete, we train to survive!

Seems a bit cheeky to post this on a Hapkido web site - but I suppose if it is the "most proven reality based self defence in the world" then we should check it out.

In the meantime I have sent them an email so see if they would be willing to post info about the AHA on their web site.

I have asked them to promote us as teaching:

Hapkido - the most enjoyable martial art in the world!!

If anyone does visit their school in Melbourne we would love to hear about your impressions of the school.

I was thinking about going to this, but in the end I decided to do Hapkido instead. Smile

From what I've seen on Human Weapon and Fight Quest,(Yeah I know I'm a martial arts dag.) the whole Krav Maga thing looks pretty cool and the references to Special Forces and elite soldiers gets the armchair warrior in us all buzzing.

One thing I noticed on the Krav Maga episode of Human Weapon was one of the guys (Ex Footy Guy) was gushing about "The Burst" a simultaneous block and strike, and how in all of his martial arts adventures he'd never come across it before. We drill it as a defence against a round punch, (a favourite with juiced up yobbos,) with a variety of strikes.

As I explore the world of martial arts and get to know Hapkido more, I appreciate that we practise a very well rounded art with techniques and applications that appear in many other arts.

Mazel Tov!

I received a reply from the instructor at the Melbourne Krav Maga school - he is setting up a forum on his site and is happy for us to post info about our Melbourne Hapkido school on his site - he seems a reasonable fellow.

"Proven to be the most effective self defence system in the world" is a pretty big claim to make.

From what i could see based on the video they teach concepts on how to deal with a range of situations. Which is all ok, however techque wise...hmm not so sure.

Hey guys,

We've had technical difficulties in getting our forum up. Until it happens we welcome you all to promote Hapkido Melbourne on our facebook page.
