Hello Hapkidoists. Very excited about getting back into training. Tonight's our first for 2010. It's 43 degrees down here so it'll be hot in the Dojang tonight. During the break I have enjoyed reading the variety of posts and comments in the forum.
Very proud to be practicing this diverse and dynamic art with the supportive and congenial team here in Melbourne.
Also proud to be part of the greater Hapkido community through the AHA.
Have an amazing year!
Thank you. |

Welcome Seoulman - glad you made good use of the forum over the holidays. What a great nickname you have - have you ever been to Seoul?
How was the hot training? How many turned up for the first class of 2010 for Melbourne? _________________ --------------------------------------------

Hi Daniel-First night back was a scorcher. Worked up a sweat putting on my Dobok! The two fans in the hall rotated and hummed valiantly but fought a losing battle with the oppressive heat. So happy to be back on the mats regardless.
4 die hards made the effort last night. I guess the heat and holidays had an effect on numbers. It was still a great night. After a light warm up we dusted off the pads and went through a variety of kicking and striking combinations and finished up with some lock flow drills.
No, I've never been to Seoul, (Just thought Seoul Man would make a snappy forum "handle" glad you like it) but I'm building a dream and hope to train there in the future. I see a pilgrimage to the home of Hapkido as a salute and celebration of an art that I am boundlessly enthusiastic about.
I've enjoyed reading and have been inspired by the various posts of other AHA students Korean experiences.
I hope to add my story to the forum one day.
Thanks Daniel. |

| It's definately good to be back and training in Melbourne for 2010. Aside from the weather being all over the place I think it's been a positive start to the year and everyone seems to be keen and enjoying themselves. |

Hi AndrewM. Yes there is no appropriate "Emoticon" to express my excitement. First week back was great! Unfortunately I'm stuck in a sound proof booth for the next 14 days and won't be able to attend classes (Insert gut wrenching sigh here.)
One thing I neglected to mention in my initial post is that Melbourne Combatitive Arts offers students the opportunity to sure, practice Hapkido (and loving it!), but to also explore the exotic martial worlds of Jun Fan, JKD and Kali.
This goes without saying and I'm sure the JKD guys would agree, that if AHA members from other states ever find themselves in sunny Melbourne, it would be great to see you on our black rubber mats.
Thank you.
