Today is the day that Tup Moekaa, Chief Instructor of Hunter Hapkido is giving up smoking. He is engaging the help of his local doctor to give up 'cold turkey'.

In addition (as if that is not enough) Tup is determined to lose a significant amount of weight so he can be 'match-ready' by next July.

Apparently smoking is a very difficult habit to break - so I was wondering what we could do to help Tup stop smoking.

So here is my message to Tup to help him through this tough time ahead:

"Tup I really value your presence on this earth - you have so much potential as a martial artist - I want to see you fit and healthy so you can achieve this potential. Your success in giving up smoking is important to me as well as you. Good Luck.."

If any other students or peers of Tup have words of encouragement for Tup please tell him (either in person or here in the forum) - let him know what he means to you so he can be encouraged to improve his health!!

Tuakana

That is great news! Cold turkey is the hard way Tup, i am so glad that you have decided to choke the smokes and get match fit, think of the health benefits and the plus is that you will be around to enjoy our company a lot longer than if you didn't, as Daniel said, we value your presence on this planet! So go hard and good luck brother, just remember that when you are in Byron for holidays at christmas i have made the whole house, even outside a non smoking area, so you wont be able to indulge even outside.
Tup you have accomplished greater things in the past, so i believe you will beat the addiction and achieve your goals, with our support and encouragement. Good Luck!

Tup you can do it brother!!! I remember when i quit smoking and it was obviously hard but after a while it just clicked.
I was going for a swim at the beach and i just thought "wow i can actually breathe" and since then i've never turned back.

I know you can do it you just need to make it past the hump and then its all down hill.

I look forward to seeing you and you're new lease on life Smile
